LABEL RULES:

Custom Wine Label Artwork Specifications

File formats; please provide 3 files of your artwork submission.  

*Your raw artwork files (for example, .PSD, .AI, .EPS (with outlined fonts) (do not flatten layers) this is the file the winery uses to print the label.

*PDF file – This file is used to print your label for display at our October 18th event. 

*JPEG/JPG file – This file is used for the judge to preview.

*Files submitted must have a minimum 300 dpi resolution.

*Wine Label Dimensions MUST fit on the wine bottle and be able to accommodate the back label provided by the Winery.

* Please use a guideline of 3.5” x 3.5” as your template, a template is available here.

 

Printing & Color

* All printing is 4-color CMYK laser printing

*Bleeds are permitted but require crop marks on designer provided artwork

*Pantone colors should be specified when appropriate

*Color matching is as accurate as possible within technological limitations but may vary slightly from what is displayed on a computer monitor

 

Content

*Wine label content describing wine varietals, production year and appellation needs to be designated on your front label design

*Artwork cannot contain copyrighted images or text unless customer owns or has licensed such material.

*You may NOT use any descriptive words, for example: courageous, strong, powerful, survivor, etc. 

*First and Last Vineyards and Wine + Design will retain final approval on artwork.

 

Submission

*Artwork should be submitted in electronic form only. (Submission via Dropbox is preferred). Each design firm can submit one design per type of wine.

*Label submissions are due on or before Monday, August 20th, 2018.  Please send submissions to Lyndsi O'Donnell: lodonnell@momtex.com via dropbox. 

*The final labeled wine product will be presented to the winning design team at the Event at Marshall's Landing on Thursday, October 18th, 2018.  

 

Approval

*Design Firm agrees that First and Last Winery and Wine + Design reserve the right to use their label on the First and Last Winery and Wine + Design website and for other promotional purposes.

 

Judging Criteria

Label presentation to the judge will be a blind submission to the judge.  Judging is based on the following criteria:

*Carry the message of Common Thread for the Cure

*Incorporating the 2018 event theme: Shades of Strength

*Adhering to Label Specifications 

* Use of Color 

*Overall Creativity
